He is best known for his roles in the films and TV series "The Boondock Saints," "The Dead Zone," "Powder," "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles," and "Saw 3D." He also gained recognition for his role as Sam Gibson in the series "The Young and the Restless." Flanery was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and grew up in Houston, Texas. His mother, Genie, was a realtor, and his father, Paul Flanery, worked in medical equipment sales. Flanery has a diverse ancestry, including English, Irish, and Cajun heritage.

Early Life and Acting Career

After graduating from high school, Flanery briefly attended St. Thomas University in Houston. It was during his time in college that he became interested in acting. Initially, his involvement in a local drama group was motivated by his attraction to a girl already pursuing an acting career.
