Semen Zlotnikov: Early Life and Education

Semen Zlotnikov was born in the Soviet Union and studied Russian philology at Tashkent University. During this time, he developed a passion for writing and began publishing his poetry and prose in local newspapers and literary magazines.

Journalistic Career and Literary Beginnings

After graduating, Zlotnikov worked as a sports journalist while continuing to write. His works started appearing in Tashkent's literary scene in 1969, including the prestigious literary journal "Zvezda Vostoka."

Move to Leningrad and Moscow

In 1972, Zlotnikov relocated to Leningrad, where he resided until 1984. During his stay, he established a presence in the city's theatrical world.
