Biography of Serge Pizzorno

Serge Pizzorno, whose full name is Sergio Lorenzo 'Serge' Pizzorno, was born in 1980 in Newton Abbot, Devon, England. He comes from a mixed heritage, with an Italian father and an English mother.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

In his childhood, Pizzorno's first passion was football, in which he excelled. However, as he grew older, his interest shifted towards music, specifically rave music. He set up a makeshift studio in his own room and started sampling and writing music.

Formation of 'Kasabian'

During his teenage years, Pizzorno discovered the band 'Oasis,' which solidified his choice to pursue a career in music. On his 15th birthday, Pizzorno received his first guitar as a gift from his parents.

During his time in school, Pizzorno met and became friends with Chris Edwards, who would later become the bassist of their newly formed band called 'Saracuse.' Along with Tom Meighan and Christopher Karloff, they formed the band 'Kasabian.' The band derived its name from a book about the Manson Family, with the surname Kasabian catching their attention.

Career and Success

'Kasabian' quickly gained popularity and released their self-titled debut album in 2004, followed by 'Empire' in 2006 and 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' in 2009. The latter album was nominated for the prestigious 'Mercury Prize,' although it did not win.

In May 2010, 'Kasabian' announced that they were working on their fourth album in a studio in San Francisco. Pizzorno believes that 'Kasabian' and 'Arctic Monkeys' are the only worthy successors to 'Oasis' and the rock 'n' roll genre in the UK.

Fashion Endeavors and Personal Life

Pizzorno is also well-known in the fashion world. He has been featured by fashion brand 'Prada' and modeling agency 'Models 1.' Additionally, he and his bandmates have appeared in advertising campaigns for 'Burberry.' He was later offered a partnership with the Italian fashion house 'Armani.'

In August 2010, Pizzorno became a father when his wife Amy gave birth to their son Ennio Silva Pizzorno. However, due to his busy touring schedule, he often finds it difficult to spend time at home.

Pizzorno is known for his preference for playing the 'Rickenbacker 481' guitar, which is famous for its bright red color. He can be seen using this guitar in most of the band's videos and live performances. Occasionally, he also plays the 'Fender Coronado,' which is also red in color.
