Biography of Sergey Egert
Sergey Egert is a Latvian singer and countertenor. He began his opera career in 2000 and has since become known for his performances in baroque music. In particular, he has sung the role of Orpheus in Gluck's "Orfeo ed Euridice" and the title role in Handel's opera "Rinaldo".
In addition to his opera repertoire, Egert also sings sacred music, including the Stabat Mater by Pergolesi and Vivaldi, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Handel's Messiah oratorio.
Egert received his education at the Latvian Academy of Music under the guidance of Karlis Zarins and Andris Veismanis. He also had the opportunity to train at Schola Cantorum Basilienis with Andreas Scholl.
On August 10, 2007, Egert founded a charitable foundation with the aim of helping children with disabilities or serious illnesses. Through this foundation, he works to provide support and assistance to those in need.
