Early Life and Military Education

Born in Volochysk, Russian Empire, into a family of a dragoon regiment officer, Pierre Razoumovsky embarked on a distinguished military career. Following the revolution and civil war, he sought refuge in France. There, he attended the renowned École Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr, graduating as a lieutenant and joining the 1st Foreign Regiment. Razoumovsky served in the Foreign Legion, ultimately becoming a naturalized French citizen in 1928.

Service in World War II

During World War II, Razoumovsky held a staff officer position in the 3rd Algerian Infantry Division from 1944 to 1945. He made significant contributions to the Allied war effort, drawing upon his extensive military experience and knowledge.
