Biography of Sergey Grigorovich
Sergey Grigorovich is a Ukrainian video game developer, entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of GSC Game World. He is known for his work on the computer games Venom, "Cossacks," and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Early Life
Sergey Grigorovich was born on April 18, 1978, in Kiev, Ukraine. However, he spent the first three years of his life living with his grandmother in Donetsk. In the fifth grade, he participated in a school exchange program to France, where he brought back a game that he later rented out to his classmates, earning his first money. From the sixth grade, he started trading computer games and various electronics products at the market. At the age of 16, he established GSC Game World, with the company's name derived from his initials, Sergey Konstantinovich Grigorovich. Interestingly, he designed the company's logo at the age of 12.
Career
After finishing school, Grigorovich enrolled in the Faculty of Radio Engineering at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. However, due to his busy schedule in the business, he was unable to pass his first winter session. He also attempted to study economics at the International Scientific and Technical Institute, which he left after the first semester. In 2008, Sergey Grigorovich received the "Lifetime Achievement" award at the national ceremony "Pride of the Country-2008."
In February 2011, the international company Ernst&Young concluded the "Entrepreneur of the Year" competition, which has been held in 50 countries for 50 years. Sergey Grigorovich emerged as the winner of the Ukrainian stage of the "Entrepreneur of the Year 2010" competition.
