In school, he became involved in extracurricular activities such as drama and poetry, guided by the late Viktor Timofeev, a renowned author and journalist.
Education and Stage Career
After graduating high school, Kaplunov enrolled at the Murmansk Pedagogical Institute. However, his passion for the arts led him to transfer to the prestigious Shchepkin Theatre School in Moscow under the tutelage of legendary actor Viktor Korshunov. After graduating in 2000, Kaplunov joined the cast of the acclaimed Stanislavsky Theatre, where he has excelled in diverse roles, including Yepihodov in "The Cherry Orchard" and Chebutykin in "Three Sisters."

Kaplunov's film debut came in 2001 with a small role in "101st Kilometer." He gained recognition with his portrayal of Pyotr Vyazemsky in the historical drama "Satisfaction" and the role of Chasovshchikov in the crime thriller "The Seventh Victim."
