Sergei Karimov: German-Kazakh Footballer
Sergei Karimov is a German-Kazakh footballer who plays as a defender. Born in Saran, Kazakhstan, Karimov moved to Germany with his family in 1995. He began his professional career at Wolfsburg, where he made his debut in the Bundesliga on December 8, 2007.
Debuts and Success at Wolfsburg
In January 2008, Karimov played in the Round of 16 of the German Cup, where he scored the equalizer against Schalke 04 in the 90th minute and later converted the decisive penalty in the shootout. He subsequently signed a professional contract with Wolfsburg until 2010 and went on to win the Bundesliga title with the team in 2008.
International Career
In February 2008, Karimov received an offer from the Kazakhstan Football Federation to play for the national team. On August 11, 2010, he made his debut against Oman, helping Kazakhstan secure a 3-1 victory.
