Academic and Professional Journey

Born in Belarus, our physicist received his doctorate in Physics and Mathematics in 1992. After graduating from Belarusian State University in 1974, he joined the Institute of Physics at the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR. In 1994, he became the head of its Quantum Optics Laboratory.

Over the years, he has held prestigious positions within the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB): Deputy Academician-Secretary of the Department of Physics, Mathematics, and Informatics (2008), Corresponding Member (2009), Chief Scientific Secretary (2012), and Deputy Chairman of the Presidium (2014). From 2005 to 2011, he chaired the Belarusian Physical Society.

Scientific Contributions

The physicist's research focuses on quantum optics and quantum informatics. His groundbreaking theory on quantum fluctuations during nonlinear optical interactions led to the prediction of various effects observed in photon emission by individual atoms and molecules in diverse environments.

He has also developed innovative methods and systems for quantum information technologies, including quantum computers and quantum cryptography.

Honors and Recognition

In recognition of his contributions to quantum optics, our physicist received the State Prize of Belarus in Science and Technology in 2002. His other accolades include:

- Lenin Komsomol Prize of the BSSR (1982)

- Medal of Francysk Skaryna (2014)

- Honorary title "Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus" (2019)
