Early Life and Career in Kiev
Ukrainian former professional ice hockey defenseman, born in Kiev, Ukraine. Began his career in Kiev, initially playing for "Sokol-2" before joining the main "Sokol" team.
Draft by Buffalo Sabres, AHL Stint
In 1994, was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres with the 121st overall pick. Despite the draft, he never played in the NHL. However, he spent several seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Return to Russia: Magnitogorsk and Ak Bars
In 2000, returned to Russia to join Metallurg Magnitogorsk. In the 2003/04 season, emerged as one of the most prolific defensemen in the Russian Championship, scoring two goals and making 19 assists. Played in the finals of the playoffs, which were won by Avangard.
