Gonzalo Gerardo Higuaín was born in Brest, France, on December 10, 1987, to Jorge Higuaín, a renowned Argentinian striker. While his father played for Stade Brestois 29, 10-month-old Gonzalo and his family relocated to Argentina. Despite his dual nationality, he first returned to France in 1998 for the FIFA World Cup.

From a young age, Higuaín's passion for football shone through. With his father as his mentor, he honed his skills on the streets of Buenos Aires. He signed his first professional contract with River Plate in 2005 and made a remarkable debut with a 2:1 victory over Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata.

Rise to Stardom at Real Madrid

In December 2006, rumors began to circulate about Real Madrid's interest in the Argentinian prodigy. The club's offer of €10 million sealed the deal, and Higuaín joined the Spanish giants in January 2007.
