Early Life and Education

Robert Abela was born to George Abela, the former President of Malta, and his wife Margaret. As a young man, he pursued bodybuilding and played for the national football team.

Abela studied law at the University of Malta, where he met his future wife, Lydia. He subsequently practiced law at Abela Advocates, a family firm specializing in labor law.

Political Career

Abela entered politics in 2017 when he was elected to the House of Representatives. He served as Legal Advisor to Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

Personal Life
