Sergei Pryadkin: A Journey in Russian Football
Early Life and CareerSergei Pryadkin was born on June 30, 1960, in Moscow, Russia. He embarked on a career in the military, graduating from the M. I. Kalinin Oryol Higher Military Command School of Communications in 1982.
Transition to Sports and Business
In 1994 (or 1995, according to Pryadkin), he established the agency "GiRRus" in Charlotte, Germany, which specialized in representing football players. Konstantin Sarsaniya was one of the agency's co-founders.
Russian Premier League
Pryadkin joined the Russian Premier League (RPL) at its inception in 2001. On November 14, 2007, he assumed the presidency of the RPL and held that position until October 5, 2021.
Russian Football Union
Pryadkin's association with the Russian Football Union (RFU) spanned multiple roles. From 2005 to 2006, he served as an advisor to the RFU president. He was also the RFU's interim general director from August to November 2006 and the general director from November 2006 to November 2007. From December 19, 2018, to February 21, 2019, he was the RFU's interim president.
UEFA and International Positions
Pryadkin held numerous positions within UEFA bodies, including the Committee for Player Status and Agent Regulations and the Strategic Council for Professional Football. He was also a member of the European Leagues' Board of Directors.
Other Affiliations
Beyond football, Pryadkin served on the Public Council of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
Legacy
