Early Life and Career
Yılmaz Güney began his career in cinema as a film editor and assistant director. His directorial debut came in 1974 with the film "Endiše," which won two "Golden Orange" awards at the Antalya National Film Festival.
Collaboration with Yılmaz Güney
Güney rose to prominence through his collaboration with Yılmaz Güney. In 1982, they co-produced the film "The Road" (Yol). Despite Güney's imprisonment on Imrali Island, Güney wrote the screenplay, and Güney completed the film. It went on to win the prestigious "Palme d'Or" at the 35th Cannes Film Festival.
