Early Life and Education
Serik Baymukhambetov was born on September 8, 1958. He received his education from Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR.
Academic Career
Upon completing his university studies, Baymukhambetov embarked on a career in academia. He engaged in scientific and teaching activities, fostering his knowledge in the field of law.
Government Service
From 1992 to 2001, Baymukhambetov held various leadership positions within the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He served as Vice Minister of Internal Affairs and Vice Minister of Justice. Baymukhambetov was also appointed Deputy Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Economic and Corruption Crimes (Financial Police).
Political Career
In May 2006, Baymukhambetov became the Head of the Department for Law Enforcement and Judicial Systems within the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On August 27, 2007, he was elected as a member of the Mazhilis Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the "Nur Otan" party. From September 2, 2007, he chaired the Committee on Legislation and Judicial and Legal Reform.
Minister of Internal Affairs
On April 2, 2009, Baymukhambetov was appointed as Minister of Internal Affairs by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He held this position until 2011.
Later Career
After his tenure as Minister of Internal Affairs, Baymukhambetov served as Chairman of the Committee on Customs Control of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan from May 6, 2011, until an unspecified date.
