Seth Meyers: A Versatile Entertainer
Early Life and EducationSeth Meyers was born on December 28, 1973, in Bedford, New Hampshire. His father, Lawrence, hails from Pittsburgh. After attending West High School in Manchester, New Hampshire, Meyers enrolled at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he majored in communication studies. He has a younger brother, Josh, who has also pursued a career in entertainment.
Comedy Beginnings and 'SNL'
Meyers' comedy career began with the Northwestern University sketch group "Mee-Ow," founded by Paul Warshauer and Josh Lazar. He later moved to Chicago and joined the ImprovOlympic group "Preponderate" and "Boom Chicago," alongside his brother. In 2001, Meyers joined the cast of NBC's "Saturday Night Live" as a writer and performer. In 2006, he became a co-head writer with Tina Fey and Andrew Steele, and the following season was promoted to head writer.
Acting and Film
Beyond television, Meyers has appeared in several films, including "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (2008), "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" (2008), and "See This Movie" (2004). He also has a role in the upcoming film "Key Party."

Meyers is best known as the anchor of "Weekend Update," a satirical news segment on "SNL." He has impersonated numerous high-profile figures on the show, including John Kerry, Michael Caine, Anderson Cooper, Prince Charles, Tom Cruise, Carrot Top, and Brian Williams.
Support for Political Causes
Meyers is an active supporter of Democratic politicians and has campaigned for Barack Obama. He also contributed to the 2008 Writers Guild of America strike and won $100,000 on "Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown," which he donated to the Jimmy Fund in Boston.
