Early Life and Education

Sevket Sabanci, a second-generation entrepreneur, was born in 1936 in Kayseri, Turkey. He is the fourth son of wealthy Turkish businessman Nasi Omer Sabanci. Its subsidiaries are largely listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange and include Akbank (40% stake), one of Turkey's largest banks, as well as companies in automotive engineering, cement production, energy, retail, insurance, telecommunications, textiles, hospitality, and more. Sabanci Holding's international partnerships include collaborations with Citigroup, Aviva, Bridgestone, Toyota, Verbund, Bekaert, Heidelberg Cement, Carrefour, Dia, Hilton, Mitsubishi Motor, International Paper, and Philip Morris.

Today, Sabanci serves as Vice-Chairman of Sabanci Holding, Turkey's second-largest conglomerate after Koc Holding. He also holds a position on the Board of Directors for the Sabanci Foundation VakSA.
