Sharon Elizabeth Lawrence is an American actress and television host, born on June 29, 1961, in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. She grew up with aspirations of following in her father's footsteps and becoming a television host. However, inspired by her college professor, she decided to explore her talent in the field of acting. Although she did not consider herself the best dancer or actress, she proved herself to be a highly determined young woman.

Theater Career and Hollywood Breakthrough

Due to her hard work and perseverance, Sharon Lawrence was able to make a name for herself in theaters across the country. She played roles in productions such as "Zorba," made her Broadway debut in "Cabaret," and later performed in "Fiddler on the Roof." After years of performing in various theaters, Sharon decided to pursue happiness and recognition in Hollywood.

Her first appearance on television was in the divorce drama series "Civil Wars" directed by Steven Bochco. He once again cast her in 1993, this time in the series "NYPD Blue," where she played until 2005. Her character, Sylvia, was an honest and serious assistant to a local lawyer. Although the role was originally intended for a male character, Sharon managed to create a romantic image of a young woman deeply in love and eventually marrying a dedicated police officer named Andy.

In 2000, she concluded her work in the film "Gossip," where her character, Detective Kelly, investigated a rape and subsequent suicide of the victim. In 1999, she returned to New York for the first time since moving to Hollywood. In 2001, she appeared in the series "Wolf Lake." Meanwhile, Sharon also managed to return to Broadway stages and perform in several productions in Los Angeles.
