Early Life and Education

Shelley Morrison was born on October 26, 1936, in New York City to Jewish parents. The family moved to California in 1946. Morrison attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she received her education.

Acting Career

Morrison's first acting role came in the 1955 television series "Gunsmoke." She went on to appear in numerous TV shows, including "General Hospital," "The Fugitive," "My Favorite Martian," and "The Partridge Family." In 1973, she starred in the film "McKenna's Gold."

Breakthrough Role in "Will & Grace"

In 1998, Morrison was cast as Rosario Salazar in the hit sitcom "Will & Grace." Originally intended as a guest star, Morrison's portrayal of the sassy and sarcastic maid quickly became a fan favorite. The role was expanded, and Morrison became a series regular for all eight seasons of the show.

Her performance earned her several prestigious awards, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2005.

Film and Voice Acting

Beyond "Will & Grace," Morrison appeared in films such as "Up the Down Staircase," "Beverly Hills Cop II," and "Cool Runnings." She also voiced Mr. Sanchez in the animated film "Shark Tale."

Health Struggles

In 1988, Morrison was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent chemotherapy and appeared to be in remission. However, in 1998, the disease returned, and she underwent a mastectomy. She was also diagnosed with lung cancer, requiring the removal of a portion of her right lung.

Personal Life

Morrison has been married to Walter Dominguez for many years. They reside in a luxurious three-story apartment in Los Angeles. She does not have any children of her own.

Political Activism

Morrison is actively involved in politics. She was a supporter of Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich in the 2008 election.
