Shenae Grimes, born on October 24, 1989, is a Canadian actress best known for her role as Annie Wilson in the television series "90210: The Next Generation." She was also previously known for her role as Darcy Edwards in the series "Degrassi: The Next Generation." Grimes was born in Toronto, Ontario and attended Toronto's Fashion Television Internship during her high school years. She also attended City Academy during her last two years of high school.
Early Career
Grimes started her acting career with smaller roles but quickly rose to prominence in 2004 when she landed one of the lead roles in the show "Degrassi: The Next Generation" as Darcy Edwards. Her portrayal of Darcy Edwards was highly praised. In 2008, the series ended, but Grimes didn't have to wait long for her next big role. That same year, she was cast as Annie Wilson in the series "90210: The Next Generation."
Success and Other Ventures
In 2008, Grimes appeared in the comedy film "Picture This" alongside her co-stars from "Degrassi," Lauren Collins and Ashley Tisdale. She also starred in "True Confessions Of A Hollywood Starlet" with singer JoJo that year. In 2009, Grimes was included in People magazine's list of the world's most beautiful people without makeup. She also appeared in the music video for "All You Did Was Save My Life" by Our Lady Peace.

Grimes fulfilled a lifelong dream by interning at Teen Vogue in New York for six weeks in May 2011. She later revealed that becoming a fashion magazine editor had always been her aspiration.
