Ahmed El Shenawy: A Legendary Egyptian Goalkeeper

Early Life and Career

Ahmed El Shenawy began his football journey at the renowned Al Ahly youth academy in Cairo. His exceptional talent caught the attention of the senior team, and he made his debut for Al Ahly in 2004.

International Exposure

In 2005, El Shenawy's impressive performances earned him a move to Dutch club Feyenoord. He spent four seasons in Rotterdam, making his Eredivisie debut in 2007.

Return to Egypt

After a year at Turkish club Ankaragücü, El Shenawy returned to Egypt in 2009, joining El Gouna. In the same year, he made a triumphant return to his boyhood club Al Ahly.

National Team Career

El Shenawy represented Egypt's youth teams from 2001 to 2003. He made his senior debut in 2006 and has since become an integral part of the national team. He participated in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Al Ahly Legacy

Since his return to Al Ahly, El Shenawy has become a cornerstone of the team, making over 127 appearances in the Egyptian Premier League. His exceptional goalkeeping skills and leadership have helped Al Ahly achieve numerous titles and establish themselves as one of the most successful clubs on the continent.
