Early Life and EducationBorn on April 25, 1975, in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, Shivani Ghai inherited her striking features from her Indian heritage. Raised by a single mother in a financially modest environment, she developed a strong work ethic. Ghai earned a Bachelor's degree in Film and Television from university.
Early Career and Breakthrough Roles
Ghai's acting career began in 2001 with a cameo in the popular British drama "Doctors." She gained further experiencia in "Purely English Murder" and "Siren's Day." In 2007, she landed her first major role as Sarita in the Italian comedy series "Family Doctor," despite not speaking Italian fluently.
'EastEnders' and 'Dominion'
In 2012, Ghai joined the cast of the British soap opera "EastEnders" for an entire season. The same year, she appeared in the terrorism thriller "Clean Skin" alongside Sean Bean and Charlotte Rampling. Ghai was previously married to Asian playwright Parv Bancil, but they divorced in 2014. She later found love with South African actor Tyrone Keogh, whom she met during the filming of "Dominion." They married in October 2016 with traditional Indian ceremonies. Ghai honors her first husband's memory on social media by posting photos and expressions of gratitude.
