Early Life and Education

Shoshana Zlatopolskaya was born on November 16, 1892, in Kiev, Russian Empire, to Hillel Zlatopolsky, a philanthropist and founder of the Keren Hayesod charity. She joined the "Tarbut" movement in 1909 and published an article titled "Omanut" ("Art") in 1917 with her husband, Itzhak-Yosef Zelikovitch-Parsizec.

After attending universities in Moscow and Paris, she graduated from the Sorbonne with a degree in literature in 1925.

Political and Public Involvement

Parsizec was a delegate to the Zionist Congress in London in 1920. From 1925 to 1935, she served in the Tel Aviv City Council and headed the municipality's education department. She also held positions with the Zionist Federation's Education Committee and the Vaad Leumi's Education Department.

Knesset Member and Cultural Legacy

Elected to the first, second, and third Knesset (Israeli Parliament), Parsizec represented the General Zionists and chaired the parliamentary committee on culture and education. She was awarded the Israel Prize in 1968 for her contributions to education.

Family Ties

Parsizec and her husband had two daughters: Emmima Milo, a theater actress, director, and founder of the Cameri Theater, and Shulamit, who married politician and Haaretz editor Gershon Schocken.
