Early Career

Simon Fourcade began his biathlon journey in 1998, having previously engaged in judo, snowboarding, and hockey. In the 2003-2004 season, he participated in his first World Cup, competing in the Oslo stage.

Olympic Games and World Championships

In the 2006 Winter Olympics held in Turin, Simon only competed in the individual race, finishing in a modest 31st place. However, his breakthrough came in 2009 when he became a world champion in the mixed relay event.

Continued Success

Simon's performance continued to improve in the following seasons. In the 2006-2007 season, he achieved three top ten finishes, all at the Anterselva World Championships. He also secured a second-place finish in the individual race at the Lahti stage, finishing just 17.9 seconds behind his compatriot Raphael Poiree.
