Simon Pegg was born in 1970 in England, to a civil servant and a jazz musician. When he was seven years old, his parents divorced. The future actor attended various schools, including Magna Middle School and Brockworth College. Later, Pegg enrolled in Stratford-upon-Avon College, where he studied English literature and other subjects. After college, Simon pursued drama at the University of Bristol, becoming a qualified professional.
