Early Life and CareerSofi Gelovani is a Georgian singer, best known for representing Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013. She performed the song "Waterfall" alongside Nodi Tatishvili. Gelovani comes from the ancient noble Gelovani family. In her childhood, Sofi was a soloist in the vocal ensemble "Nergebi". In 2000, the young singer won the Yerevan International Contest of Children's and Youth Songs. She was also awarded the Grand Prix at the "Path to the Stars" festival in St. Petersburg. In 2007, she emerged victorious at the All-Russian Contest "Spring of Romance" and won the Grand Prix at the annual competition in memory of Andrei Petrov. Sofi Gelovani is one of the most popular performers in modern Georgia, often referred to as the "new Nani Bregvadze" by journalists and listeners.
Television Show "10+10"
On April 14, 2012, the vocal show "10+10" premiered on the First Channel of Georgia. Sofi Gelovani participated in the show alongside Ukrainian singer Eduard Romanyuta.
Eurovision
Through an internal selection, the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) chose Sofi Gelovani to represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013, together with Nodi Tatishvili. The song they performed, "Waterfall," was written by Loreen, the songwriter behind the winning song "Euphoria". In the final of the competition, the representatives of Georgia finished in 15th place, scoring 50 points.
