Biography of Sophia Bush

Sophia Anna Bush, an American actress, was born on July 8, 1982, in Pasadena, California, USA. She is best known for her role as Brooke Davis in the TV series "One Tree Hill" and as Grace Andrews in the horror film remake "The Hitcher". Bush comes from an Italian background and is the only daughter of Charles William Bush, an advertising executive and renowned photographer, and Maureen, a studio manager. She attended Westridge School for Girls in Pasadena and the University of Southern California. Sophia was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma society, where she held a high social position. In 2000, she became the Rose Parade Queen in honor of the Rose Bowl football game. After three years of studying at the university, Bush landed the role of Brooke Davis in the TV series "One Tree Hill". She made her big-screen debut in Walt Becker's comedy "Van Wilder: Party Liaison" as Sally. Since then, she has appeared in several TV shows, including "Nip/Tuck" as a teenage bisexual, "Sabrina the Teenage Witch", and the reality show "Punk'd". She was supposed to portray Kate Brewster in the sci-fi action film "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines", but was replaced by Claire Danes because the director considered her too young at the time.

In 2003, Sophia won the role of the manipulative provocateur and cheerleading squad leader, Brooke Davis, which made her more famous, and she continues to film the sixth season of "One Tree Hill". In between seasons of "One Tree Hill", Bush appeared in several films, such as "Supercross", "Stay Alive", "John Tucker Must Die", and "The Hitcher" (remake). She received the "Rising Star" award at the Vale Film Festival for her work in "The Hitcher". The actress also won three Teen Choice Awards for her performances in "John Tucker Must Die" and "The Hitcher". On April 20, 2007, it was announced that Bush would star in the drama film "The Narrows", alongside Kevin Zegers, Eddie Cahill, and Vincent D'Onofrio. It was reported that she would play the beautiful, intelligent, and self-assured Kathy Popovich. Filming began in New York on April 24, 2007, and the release was scheduled for 2008. Bush is also set to star in the film "Table for Three", expected to be released by the end of 2008. The story revolves around a lonely young man, Scott Teller (played by Brandon Routh), who invites the "perfect young couple," Mary and Ryan (Bush and Jesse Bradford), to live with him in his apartment. When Scott unexpectedly meets the girl of his dreams, Leslie (Jennifer Morrison), he begins to suspect that Mary and Ryan are intentionally trying to sabotage his relationship with her, as they need him to fix their crumbling relationship.

Personal Life

On April 16, 2005, Bush married actor Chad Michael Murray (star of "One Tree Hill"). They had been dating for two years before getting married in Santa Monica. However, just five months later, on September 26, 2005, Bush filed for an annulment, stating that the marriage had been a fraud. Rumors circulated that Murray had cheated on her with his "House of Wax" co-star, the infamous Paris Hilton. In December 2006, Bush and Murray officially divorced.

After her divorce, the actress had a relationship with John Foster, star of the film "Stay Alive", until August 2007. Later, it became known through rumors that Bush was dating Tony Romo, a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, when the couple was spotted together in Texas. In December 2007, the New York Daily News reported that Bush was involved in a romance with James Lafferty. In May 2008, photos of Lafferty and Bush at the Los Angeles International Airport surfaced, fueling rumors about their relationship.


In February 2008, Bush took part in the Texas presidential campaign in support of Barack Obama. She was joined by people in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waco, with the support of actor Adam Rodriguez. Traveling mainly to university towns, they encouraged young voters to get involved in the political affairs of their country. In late 2007, Bush ranked 90th on the list of "100 Sexiest Women 2007" in the popular British men's magazine "FHM". She later moved up one spot in the American edition of the same magazine.


In May 2007, Bush rose to number 24 on the "Hot 100" list of Maxim magazine. Her photo appeared on the cover of the magazine's 2006 issue along with other stars from "One Tree Hill," Hillary Burton and Danneel Harris. Earlier, Bush made it to the third spot on the "50 Sexiest Women 2004" list by "Femme Fatales" and 15th place on the "20 Hottest Women" list by Much Music.


Currently, the actress resides in Wilmington, North Carolina, and continues to act in TV series. Bush collects photos for her book and enjoys reading and spending time with friends.
