Early Life and Education
Stanisław Kazimierczyk was born in Kraków, Poland, and attended the parish school at the Church of Corpus Christi. He continued his education at the University of Kraków, where he joined the religious order of the Lateran Canons.
Priesthood
In 1456, Kazimierczyk was ordained a priest. He served as a novice master, prior, and confessor at the Church of Corpus Christi in Kraków. In 1461, he obtained a Master of Philosophy degree and in 1467, a Master of Theology degree.
Preaching and Charity
Kazimierczyk became renowned for his effective sermons, which he delivered in both Polish and German. He also engaged in charitable work, assisting the poor and sick.
Death and Legacy
On March 3, 1489, Kazimierczyk passed away while praying in the church. As per his request, he was buried in the church where he had served. His tomb soon became a pilgrimage site.
Beatification and Canonization
On April 18, 1993, Kazimierczyk was beatified by Pope John Paul II. He was canonized on October 17, 2010, by Pope Benedict XVI. In the Catholic Church, his feast day is celebrated on May 5th.
