Club Success
Govor spent the majority of his club career with Steaua Bucharest, dominating the Romanian handball scene with 15 championship titles and two Cup victories. His greatest triumph came in 1977 when he led the team to the European Champions League title.
International Dominance
On the international stage, Govor achieved unparalleled success. He played a pivotal role in Romania's two World Championship triumphs in 1970 and 1974, emerging as the top scorer with 43 goals during the latter tournament.
Olympic Accolades
Govor represented Romania in three Olympic Games, earning a podium finish in each. In 1972, he claimed a bronze medal, while in 1976, he secured a silver with 32 goals in five matches. He returned to the podium in 1980, claiming another bronze with 23 goals in six games.
