Biography of Stefan Kraft

Stefan Kraft is an Austrian ski jumper, two-time world champion, and the winner of the Four Hills Tournament 2014/2015. From an early age, Kraft showed great promise as a junior athlete. In the 2011 Junior World Championships in Otepää, Estonia, he became the team champion representing Austria and won a silver medal in the individual competition.

Kraft made his World Cup debut in Bischofshofen, Austria, on January 6, 2012, finishing in 54th place. He then went on to compete in the Junior World Championships in Erzurum, where he won a bronze medal in the team event. Exactly one year after his World Cup debut, on January 6, 2013, Kraft secured his first podium finish, coming in third place in Bischofshofen. Later that month, at the Junior World Championships, he won a bronze medal in the individual competition, finishing behind only Jakub Hvala and Clemens Muranka.

On December 30, 2014, Kraft celebrated his first World Cup victory in Oberstdorf, Germany, at the first stage of the Four Hills Tournament 2014/2015. With consistent performances throughout the tournament, Kraft claimed the overall title of the Four Hills Tournament 2014/2015, becoming the seventh consecutive Austrian to win this competition. At the 2015 World Championships in Falun, he won two medals: silver in the team event and bronze in the normal hill individual competition.

On March 18, 2017, during the Raw Air competition at the Vikersundbakken hill, Stefan Kraft set a world record for the longest ski jump, reaching a distance of 253.5 meters.
