Stephanie Kay Panabaker, better known as Kay Panabaker, was born on May 2, 1990 in Orange, Texas. She is an American film and television actress. Kay is the younger sister of Daniel Panabaker, who is best known for her role in the film "Sky High". Kay gained popularity for her role in the film "Read It and Weep".

Early Life and Education

Kay began her acting career in community theaters in Chicago, Illinois, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Atlanta, Georgia. Her older sister, Daniel Panabaker, had already been working as an actress for some time. Kay completed up to the sixth grade in Naperville, Illinois before moving to Los Angeles. Despite her acting commitments, she remained focused on her education.

She completed high school at the age of thirteen and earned an associate's degree two years later. Kay received two scholarships to Glendale Community College, where she studied acting and was included in the dean's list of outstanding students. She was later accepted into the University of California, Los Angeles, where she specialized in history and earned her bachelor's degree before the age of eighteen. She was inspired by one of her elementary school teachers, whose lessons were always captivating, and she decided to become a teacher herself in the future.

Acting Career

Kay started her acting career with small roles in several TV dramas and soap operas. She played Alice Brand in the series "7th Heaven", Melissa Rue in "ER", Sara in "Port Charles", Carrie Bauer in "Brother Garcia", Elisha in "Medium", and Lindsey Willows in "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation". She also had a minor role in the film "Dead Heat" and provided voice work for the animated film "Monsters, Inc." produced by Disney and Pixar.

Kay gained recognition for her breakthrough role as Nikki Westerly in the WB channel series "Summerland" during the 2004-2005 season. She is also known for her role in the 2007 film "Nancy Drew: The Mystery in Hollywood Hills" alongside Emma Roberts and Emmy Bruckner. She had a recurring role in the series "Phil of the Future" as Debbie Berwick, who was the friend and rival of Pim Diffy (played by Emmy Bruckner). She later landed the lead role of Emily Watson in the film "Life Is Ruff" alongside Kyle Massey and Mitchell Musso.

In July 2006, Kay starred in the Disney film "Read It and Weep", which was based on the book "How My Private Personal Journal Became a Bestseller". Her older sister, Daniel, also had an important role in the film. She also participated in the "Disney Channel Games" in 2006, alongside Zac Efron, Anneliese van der Pol, Moises Arias, and Dylan Sprouse. One of her recent notable projects was the Lifetime channel film "Custody", which premiered in September 2007. She also appeared in the pilot episode of the ABC Family series "Happy Campers" and acted in the TV movies "Moondance Alexander" and "The Prince and the Pauper" with Dylan and Cole Sprouse.

Kay played the lead role of Jenny in the remake of the film "Fame", which was released in theaters in late September 2009.
