Biography of Stephanie Trafton

Stephanie Trafton is an American athlete and participant in the 2008 Olympics. She is a talented track and field athlete specializing in discus throwing and is considered one of the leading athletes in her discipline. Currently, she is a member of the United States national team representing the country at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.

Early Life and Education

Stephanie Brown Trafton was born on December 1, 1979, in California. She attended Arroyo Grande High School and later enrolled at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo College. In 2003, Trafton graduated from college with honors and received various accolades. During her studies, she actively participated in regional and intercollegiate competitions, representing her educational institutions and showcasing her talent in discus throwing. Later, Stephanie Brown Trafton started competing at the international level, demonstrating high-quality discus throwing.

Athletic Career

Currently, Trafton is a member of the Moreno athletic club and trains under the guidance of renowned athlete Peter Cocker. Apart from sports, Trafton also holds a position as a consultant in the Information Technology Services department at Sycamore Environmental Consulting. Her career in athletics progressed rapidly. In 1999, she participated in athletics competitions in Spain and secured the 14th place. Two years later, she improved her performance and finished in eighth place. In 2002, Trafton achieved fourth place in NCAA Outdoors and first place in Big West.

In 2003, she finished eighth in discus throwing at USA Outdoors, fourth in shot put at NCAA Outdoors, first in shot put at Stanford, seventh in shot put at Mt. SAC Relays, first in discus at Northridge, fourth in discus at Salinas, and third in discus at La Jolla. In 2004, she competed at the Olympics and finished eleventh in Group A. Trafton continued to participate in numerous other competitions, consistently performing at her best. Her impressive performance in the Olympic trials secured her a place in the 2008 Olympic team.
