Early Career and Olympic Debut

Jacob Kiplimo, a Ugandan middle and long-distance runner, rose to prominence at the 2016 World Junior Championships. At just 15 years old, he won a bronze medal in the 10,000-meter race. His success earned him a place at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, making him the youngest track and field athlete at the Games. Despite his impressive performance, Kiplimo finished 11th in his 5,000-meter heat and did not advance to the finals.

Success in Junior Championships

In 2017, Kiplimo expanded his accolades by becoming the world junior champion in cross-country running. The following year, he added a silver medal to his resume, finishing second in the 10,000-meter race at the World Junior Championships.
