Biography of Stephen Ross
Stephen M. Ross is the founder, chairman, and CEO of "The Related Companies". He is a developer of numerous high-end construction projects throughout the country, particularly in New York. One of the most interesting and complex projects of "The Related Companies" is the "Time Warner Center", with a total area of 2.8 million square feet.
Early Life and Education
Stephen M. Ross obtained a doctoral degree in accounting from the University of Michigan Business School in 1962. He also holds a law degree, graduating from Wayne State University Law School in 1965. In 1966, he earned a doctoral degree in taxation from the New York University School of Law. Ross excelled in his academic pursuits and demonstrated a natural aptitude for various disciplines.
Career
Ross began his career as a tax consultant at Coopers & Lybrand in Detroit. He quickly advanced within the company and became an assistant to the Vice President at Laird Inc., a real estate subsidiary. Today, Ross is the President of "Coleman's Advisory Group" and serves as a director of the university department for intercollegiate track and field.
Philanthropy and Involvement
Ross co-founded the University of Michigan with a charitable foundation, leading a successful fundraising campaign that raised $2.5 billion. He actively participates in the sports and cultural life of the country. Ross recently championed New York's bid for the Olympic Games, although it was ultimately awarded to London.
