Steve von Bergen: A Swiss Stalwart

Steve von Bergen, a renowned Swiss footballer, began his journey in his hometown at FC Nautique. At the age of 13, he caught the attention of FC Xamax scouts and transferred to the club's main team in 2000. For five seasons, he played 126 games and scored a single goal.

Success at FC Zürich

In 2005, von Bergen joined FC Zürich under the guidance of manager Lucien Favre. His debut match came against FC St. Gallen, resulting in a 3-1 victory for Zürich. During his two seasons with the club, Zürich emerged as Swiss champions both times.

Transfer to Hertha Berlin

Following Favre, von Bergen relocated to Hertha Berlin in 2007. His Bundesliga debut came in a 0-2 loss against Arminia Bielefeld. Initially a backup to Josip Šimunić, von Bergen became a regular starter after Šimunić's departure in 2009.

International Career
