Biography of Steve Kmak
Steve Kmak is an American musician and bass guitarist, best known for his work with the rock band Disturbed.
Formation of Brawl
In 1996, Steve Kmak founded the band Brawl with guitarist Dan Donegan and drummer Mike Wengren. They played in small clubs in Chicago before David Draiman joined the group.
Success with Disturbed
Together with Disturbed, Steve recorded the band's debut album "The Sickness," which was released in 2000, and their second album "Believe," released in 2002.
Departure from Disturbed
Steve Kmak was dismissed from the band by Dan Donegan due to "personal disagreements" between him and David in 2003, after the completion of the Music as a Weapon II tour. He was replaced by John Moyer, who is the current bassist of Disturbed.
Current Life
Steve Kmak currently resides in Chicago with his wife and two children. He is known for using Music Man Sting Ray bass guitars, typically five-stringed.
