Early Life and Musical Beginnings
American musician Steven Adler was born on January 22, 1965 in Cleveland, Ohio. After his parents' divorce, he relocated to Los Angeles with his mother and sister. During his high school years, Adler met future Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, bonding over their shared passion for rock music. Together, they formed the band Road Crew and began honing their craft.

Guns N' Roses Era
In 1985, Adler joined the newly formed Guns N' Roses. His powerful drumming contributed to the band's early success, resulting in the release of two multi-platinum albums. However, personal struggles, including substance abuse and alcohol-related incidents, began to overshadow his musical talent.

Dismissal from Guns N' Roses
As Adler's addiction intensified, his behavior and attendance at rehearsals and concerts became increasingly erratic. In 1990, the band expressed concerns about his reliability, and in July of that year, he was officially dismissed.
Post-Guns N' Roses
Following his departure, Adler attempted to revive Road Crew but the project was unsuccessful. He also pursued a lawsuit against Guns N' Roses, which resulted in a settlement of $2.5 million.
Hopes for Reconciliation
Adler expressed hopes for a reunion with Guns N' Roses, believing that the band owed it to their fans. However, when Axl Rose failed to attend the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Adler stated that he had given up on that possibility.
Reunion with Guns N' Roses
Despite previous conflicts, Adler reunited with Guns N' Roses for a portion of their 2016 reunion tour. He performed at the Cincinnati Paul Brown Stadium on June 6th of that year.
