Ernesto Esteban Echevarría, better known as Steven Bauer, was born in Havana, Cuba, on December 2, 1956. His parents, Lillian and Esteban, were a teacher and an airline executive respectively. Due to political turmoil, the Bauer family fled to Miami, Florida, in 1960.

Childhood and Artistic Beginnings

Steven attended Miami Senior High School and graduated in 1974 with honors. Despite his academic achievements, his true passion lay in music. However, after witnessing a college stage performance, he decided to pursue acting instead.
