Early Career
Steven Davis, a Northern Irish footballer, currently plays as a midfielder for the English club Southampton. He holds a position among the top ten players in the history of the Northern Ireland national team based on the number of matches played.
Loan to Rangers
In January 2008, Davis joined his beloved childhood club, Rangers of Glasgow, on a loan basis. Prior to this, he had played for Aston Villa and Fulham in England. During his loan spell at Rangers, Davis made 26 appearances, scoring once against Werder Bremen in the UEFA Cup. He played in the UEFA Cup final, which Rangers lost 2-0 to Zenit. Davis also played a significant role in Rangers' Scottish League Cup and Scottish Cup victories under Walter Smith's management.
Permanent Move to Rangers
Davis secured a permanent deal with Rangers, and his first full season at Ibrox Stadium proved to be successful. He was voted Player of the Year by his teammates. Rangers won both the Scottish League Cup and Scottish Cup that season, with Davis playing a key role.
