Early Life and European Debut

Eric Addo, a Ghanaian footballer, was born in Accra. He began his European career with Belgian club Brugge in 1996. As a 17-year-old midfielder, he made his debut against Sint-Truiden on August 17, 1996. His initial time at Brugge was spent mostly on the bench, but after the club's Super Cup victory, he became a more regular starter.

Success with Brugge

In the following season, Addo won the league championship with Brugge and was named the league's Best Young Player and Best African Player. He played for Brugge for three seasons, becoming a key player in their midfield.

Move to PSV

In 1999, Addo followed his coach Eric Gerets to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, signing a five-year contract. However, injuries hampered his start at PSV, and he only made his debut in October 1999. Throughout his three years at PSV, injuries continued to limit his playing time.

Loan to Roda JC

In March 2002, Addo was loaned to Roda JC due to his lack of playing opportunities at PSV.
