Biography of Stuart Hazell

Stuart Hazell is a British man who gained notoriety for committing heinous crimes. He is known as a killer, pedophile, and drug dealer. After a year-long trial, Hazell finally confessed to his actions, admitting to strangling a young girl named Tia Sharp. The Connection with Tia Sharp

Initially, there seemed to be no connection between the 37-year-old Stuart Hazell and 12-year-old Tia Sharp. However, it was later discovered that Hazell had an unhealthy attraction to young girls, which unfortunately included Tia. At the time of the murder, Tia was already deceased.

Background and Motivation

The factors that led Hazell to murder a young girl remain unclear. Some speculate that his difficult childhood, with a mother involved in prostitution and a growing dependency on alcohol, may have played a role. Others suggest that there may have been an inherent brain defect that influenced his actions. Tia's father, Steven Carter, is not concerned with understanding the internal struggles of his daughter's killer. He simply wishes to see Stuart Hazell pay for his crimes.

The Murder and Relationship with Christine Bicknell

Hazell carried out the murder of Tia Sharp in August of the previous year while living with Christine Bicknell, the girl's grandmother. Bicknell had previously helped Hazell adjust to the "outside world" after his release from prison, providing him with a semblance of a family. Hazell struggled to maintain steady employment, initially attempting window cleaning but eventually skipping work due to supposed health issues. As a result, Bicknell became his main source of financial support. Unfortunately, Hazell repaid her kindness with ingratitude.

The Disappearance and Discovery

Tia Sharp was last seen alive on the evening of August 2nd. Bicknell called Hazell's mobile phone and heard her granddaughter's laughter in the background. Later that night, Hazell sent Bicknell a message wishing her a good night, but little did she know that for him, the night was just beginning. Between 3 and 6 a.m., Hazell took explicit photographs of Tia's lifeless body, posing her erotically and leaving her unclothed.

Bicknell returned home around 3 p.m., and Hazell claimed that Tia had recently left the house and promised to return by 6 p.m. By 7:50 p.m., it became clear that Tia was missing. Hazell and Bicknell started searching for her. Despite Hazell knowing exactly where the girl's body was hidden, it took a week for investigators to find her remains. Initially, Hazell claimed that Tia had simply left home and not returned. However, after her body was discovered in a suitcase at Hazell and Bicknell's apartment, he concocted a new story, suggesting that she had accidentally fallen down the stairs.

The Confession and Sentencing

Hazell has now admitted his guilt, although it is unlikely that this confession will impact his sentencing. The prosecution is seeking a minimum of 30 years of imprisonment for Hazell, while Tia's father would prefer the death penalty for her killer. According to Hazell's official representative, Lord Carlile, his client confessed primarily to relieve his own conscience and alleviate the pain of Tia's parents. Carlile describes this as the only brave act Hazell has ever committed, but it is unlikely to change the fact that he committed a horrific crime and must now face the consequences of his actions.
