Stuart Neil is an American opera singer and tenor who has established himself as one of the most promising tenors of his generation. Stuart Neil has performed on the stages of the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, La Fenice, Vienna State Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro Colón, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Dallas Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and others. He has also sung with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Boston Symphony Orchestra, and Sächsische Staatskapelle.
Recordings
Stuart Neil has more than a dozen classical recordings to his name, including Vincenzo Bellini's opera "Il pirata" on the "Berlin Classics" label, Giuseppe Verdi's "Oberto" on "Philips Classics," Verdi's Requiem and Stravinsky's "Persephone" with the San Francisco Symphony for "RCA Red Seal," which received three Grammy Awards.
Recognition
Stuart Neil is widely recognized as the best performer of the tenor role in Verdi's Requiem and has performed this role over 175 times. He made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Arturo in "I Puritani," at La Scala as Edgardo in "Lucia di Lammermoor," at the Opéra Bastille and Salzburg Festival as Der Singer in "Der Rosenkavalier," and at Vienna State Opera reprising his role as Arturo in "I Puritani." He also performed as Riccardo in "Oberto" at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.

In 2008 and 2009, Stuart Neil expanded his repertoire with the roles of Radames in "Aida," Manrico in "Il Trovatore" at the Royal Opera in Stockholm, Cavaradossi in "Tosca," and the title role in "Don Carlo." He made his New York concert debut at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, under the auspices of the Opera Orchestra of New York.
