Biography of Sumire
Sumire Ishikawa, better known by her stage name Sumire, was a Japanese model and cabaret actress. She was born on July 28, 1987, in Isawa, Iwate, and was raised by a single mother. From a young age, Sumire dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, but the financial requirements of the industry proved to be a barrier.
To pursue her dreams, Sumire worked at a hostess club, a popular type of entertainment establishment in Japan, to save up money. It was during this time that she adopted the stage name "Sumire," which she found in a single by the Japanese reggae group Shonan no Kaze.
Sumire's success at the hostess club caught the attention of the editor of the fashion magazine "Koakuma Ageha." At the age of 20, she made her debut as a model in the magazine and quickly became incredibly popular among its readers.
However, Sumire's modeling career was cut short when she was found dead in her condominium on June 11, 2009. The cause of her death was determined to be a severe brain hemorrhage, although there were some unsubstantiated rumors of a fatal methamphetamine overdose.
