Susan Michaela Sullivan, an American actress, is best known for her successful roles in various television projects. She was born in New York and grew up in the Baldwin area of Long Island, Nassau County. She graduated from high school there in 1960. In 1964, she received a Bachelor's degree in Dramatic Arts from Hofstra University, where she had previously worked as a Playboy Bunny.

Acting Career Beginnings

Sullivan's acting career took off in the 1960s with her role in the Broadway production "Jimmy Shine" alongside Dustin Hoffman. In 1969, she signed a contract with Universal Studios and appeared as a guest star in several projects. However, her main success came from daytime soap operas. She played the role of Lenore Moore Delaney on the soap opera "Another World" from 1971 to 1976.

Success in Soap Operas

After starring in the television movie "A World Apart" in 1970, Sullivan caught the attention of the producers of "Another World" and was cast as Lenore Moore Delaney. She portrayed the character for five years until 1976. In 1976, Sullivan appeared alongside Charlton Heston in the television version of the film "Midway" as Anne, Heston's character's friend.

Television Success and Recognition

In 1977, Sullivan gained further recognition when she appeared in the pilot episode of "Incredible Hulk TV Series" with Bill Bixby, and the following year, she played the role of Poker Alice Ivers in the series "New Maverick" with James Garner. Her role as Maggie Porter in the television drama "Rich Man, Poor Man Book II" earned Sullivan an Emmy nomination, bringing her even more attention. She also played Dr. Julie Farr in the television series "Having Babies" which eventually became two TV movies and a short-lived weekly series.

"Falcon Crest" and Continued Success

In 1981, Sullivan landed her second major role as Maggie Gioberti in the CBS soap opera "Falcon Crest." The show became extremely popular, and many consider the character of Gioberti to be Sullivan's most successful role. She was nominated three times for the Soap Opera Digest Awards during her eight years on the show from 1981 to 1989.

Later Projects and Voice Acting

After leaving "Falcon Crest," Sullivan appeared in various projects such as "The George Carlin Show," the short-lived political drama "The Monroes," and had a supporting role in the film "My Best Friend's Wedding." From 1997 to 2002, she played the role of Kitty Montgomery in the comedy series "Dharma & Greg." Sullivan also lent her voice to the character Queen Hippolyta in the animated series "Justice League Unlimited." Additionally, she was the spokesperson for the pain reliever brand Tylenol from 1984 to 1996.

Currently, Sullivan plays one of the main roles in the TV series "Castle" as the mother of Nathan Fillion's character.
