Svetlana Antonova: Actress

Svetlana Antonova was born and raised in Moscow. Her father was in the military and her mother was a teacher. She also has an older sister named Natalia Antonova, who she looked up to and admired. Her parents focused on raising their daughters with love and guidance, teaching them the difference between right and wrong. As a child, Svetlana enjoyed playing pranks on her sister and looked up to Natalia as a role model. It was because of Natalia that Svetlana chose to pursue a career as an actress. After graduating from school, Natalia attended the Shchukin School, and Svetlana decided to follow in her footsteps.

Choosing Acting

Svetlana could have pursued a different career path with her striking looks. At the age of 16, she was invited to a modeling agency and even had a few professional photos taken. She also considered following her mother's footsteps and becoming a teacher, even submitting documents to a pedagogical institute. However, Svetlana realized that acting was more interesting to her. She confided in her sister, Natalia, about her decision to apply to drama school. With Natalia's help, Svetlana successfully passed her exams and was accepted into the Shchukin School, where she studied under the guidance of Alexander Anatolievich Shirvindt, the director of the Satire Theater.

A Career in Theater

Svetlana was initially warned about the harsh atmosphere and fierce competition in the Satire Theater. However, she was pleasantly surprised when she was warmly welcomed into the theater family. Throughout her career, she has played roles in various productions, including "The Apple Thief," "The Secretaries," "Eight Loving Women," "Ornifl," and "The Hotel Owner," among others.

The Love Story

Svetlana met her future husband, actor Oleg Dolin (the son of singer Veronika Dolina), while they were both applying to the Shchukin School. They quickly became close friends, bonding over shared interests and spending time together. Eventually, Oleg confessed his love for Svetlana, and she realized that she reciprocated those feelings. They were together for 11 years and had a daughter named Masha before unexpectedly divorcing in 2008.

Acting Career

Svetlana started her acting career with supporting roles in various TV series, such as "Citizen Boss," "FM and the Boys," "The Station," and "Evlampia Romanova." In 2005, she landed the lead role in the series "My Love," where she portrayed the impulsive and passionate Angela Raiskaya. This role brought her recognition and paved the way for her future success.

One of Svetlana's noteworthy performances was in the action film "Piranha Hunt." Director Andrei Kavun sought a physically strong actress for the role of Olga Khmelnytskaya, a chemist-biologist and special agent. Svetlana had previously worked with Kavun on "The Station," which led to her being invited to audition for the role. Despite having to undergo physical training and losing weight for the role, Svetlana's dedication paid off, and she was praised for her performance in the film.

Svetlana has since appeared in various films and TV series, including "My Light," "Crazy Love," "The Bay of Lost Divers," "Sea Patrol," and "Monte Cristo." Her upcoming project is the film "Detective Agency Ivan and Marya," set to release in 2009.
