Biography of Svetlana Okruzhnaya
Actress Svetlana Artemovna Okruzhnaya is a People's Artist of Belarus. She was born in 1947 in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. Okruzhnaya began her creative career in 1969 after graduating from the Belarusian State Theatre and Art Institute under the guidance of Professor D.A. Orlov. She has portrayed numerous significant characters on the stage of the Kolas Theater, such as Anyutka in "The Power of Darkness" by L. Tolstoy, Chetvertak in "Quiet Flows the Don" by B. Vasilyev, Daughter in "The Beaten Apostle" by A. Makayenka, Danuta in "Clemens" by K. Sai, Elena in "Elena's Island" by E. Shaban, Franca in "Ham" by E. Ozheshko, Bobby Mitchell in "This Passionate Lover" by N. Simon, Florinskaya in "A Plush Monkey in a Crib" by M. Yablonskaya, Luba in "The Moscow Choir" by L. Petrushevskaya, Doris in "California Lovers" by B. Slade, Elina Makropoulos in "The Makropoulos Affair" by K. Capek, Jeanne in "Jeanne" based on "The Lark" by J. Anouilh, Madame in "Marlene: Marlene" by D. Minchonka, and Anna in "Under the Sun" by V. Maslyuk. Her notable film works include "The Second Autumn", "The Beaten Apostle", and "The Cry of a Quail".
