Early Life and Family Background
Swann Arlaud was born on March 25, 1981, in Fontenay-aux-Roses, France. His father is set designer Yann Arlaud, son of Swiss screenwriter Rudolf Maurice Arlaud. His mother, Tatiana Vialle, is a casting director, theater and film director, and actress. His maternal grandfather is actor Max Vallee, and his maternal grandmother is singer Sonia Larose. Arlaud's unique first name derives from the character in Marcel Proust's novel, "In Search of Lost Time."
Education and Theatrical Debut
Arlaud studied at the Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg. In 1996, his mother remarried, bringing stepfather, cinematographer, and director Bruno Nuytten, and half-siblings, Tobias and Galatee Nuytten-Vallee, into his life. His film debut was in the 1987 melodrama "Jeux d'artifices," in which his father contributed to the visuals.
Rising Star in French Cinema
Arlaud appeared in minor roles in films like "D'Artagnan et les Trois Mousquetaires" and "Les âmes grises." In 2010, his portrayal of Jean-Pierre in "Belle Épine" showcased his acting depth.
