Biography of Takahiko Kozuka
Takahiko Kozuka is a Japanese figure skater who competes in men's singles figure skating. He was born on February 27, 1989, in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan.
Early Life and Family
Kozuka began skating at the age of five. His father, Tsuguhiko Kozuka, was a former figure skater who represented Japan at the 1968 Winter Olympics, while his mother was also a figure skater who competed in ice dancing. Currently, Kozuka's father is one of the members of his coaching team. Additionally, his coach Nobuo Sato, whose daughter Yuka Sato is the 1994 World champion in ladies' singles skating, serves as his choreographer.
Achievements
In 2006, Kozuka became the Junior World champion in men's singles figure skating. He made his debut at the senior level in 2008 and finished eighth at the World Championships, helping Japan to qualify three spots for the 2009 World Championships.
During the 2008-2009 season, Kozuka won the Skate America Grand Prix event and placed second at the Trophée Eric Bompard, earning him a spot in the Grand Prix Final where he won the silver medal. He also won the bronze medal at the Four Continents Championships.
With his elegant style and precise technical skills, Kozuka has established himself as one of Japan's top male figure skaters. He continues to compete at national and international competitions, aiming to represent his country at the highest level of the sport.
