Biography of Tamara Desni
Tamara Desni was a British actress who was born Tamara Brodsky in Berlin, Germany, in a family of actress Ksenia Desni. It is known that she had a part of Russian blood in her veins. Her father, James Brodsky, left the family and moved to the United States in search of a better life. Desni got married to a dentist as a teenager, but they had already divorced by the time of her acting debut.

Acting Career
Desni made her acting debut in 1931 in the lead role in the musical "White Horse Inn". Shortly after, she landed another leading role in the musical "Casanova" with music by Johann Strauss Jr. Her film career started two years later in 1933 with her first film "Falling for You". She went on to play roles in films such as "Dick Barton at Bay", "The Torso Murder Mystery", "Fire Over England", and "Hell's Cargo". In 1950, Desni bid farewell to the film industry.
Marriages
Desni met her second husband, actor Bruce Seton, during the production of the film "Blue Smoke" in 1934. They had a romance, got married in 1936, and divorced in 1940. Her third marriage was to film producer Bill Gillett, who unfortunately did not survive World War II. Desni's fourth marriage was to Canadian actor Raymond Lovell in 1947, but this marriage also ended quickly. In France, Desni met builder Albert Lavane. Together, they built the legendary hotel "L'Auberge Chez Tamara". They got married in 1956 soon after Desni discovered that she was pregnant for the first time. Despite her previous unsuccessful marriages, Desni agreed to marry Lavane, mainly because of their unborn child. This fifth marriage lasted nearly fifty years until Lavane's death. Desni had two children during her marriage to Lavane.
Later Years and Death
As Desni approached her nineties, her health began to decline. She passed away on February 7, 2008, in Valence-d'Agen, France, at the age of ninety-four. At the time of her death, she was a widow.
