The family's income was meager, so her parents couldn't send her to the U.S. Every year, Tanya's brother provided the necessary information for the lottery, hopeful for a win. And by a fortunate twist of fate, she became the recipient of that prize. After completing high school in Indonesia, Tanya moved to America and enrolled in English language courses, as she encountered difficulties in communicating with people. Her brother, who worked as a manager in a pizzeria, offered her a job. Tanya's responsibilities involved taking orders over the phone. According to her brother, it was one of the best ways to improve her spoken English. After all, Tanya had long cherished a dream - to become an actress!

Tanya took her first steps in the entertainment industry on the Disney Channel. She gained popularity and recognition for her roles as Mojo in the adaptation of the TV show "Go Figure" and "Pixel Perfect".
